Upload files from cloud storage services like Google Drive or SharePoint for file translation on the DeepL website.
DeepL integrations for file upload are supported for the following platforms:
- Google Drive
- SharePoint
- OneDrive
Currently, it is not possible to upload files from Contentful for file translations. Learn more about the integration for Contentful here.
After connecting DeepL to a cloud storage service, you can upload files stored there for file translation as part of a DeepL translation workflow. Learn more about DeepL's end-to-end translation flow here.
As last step of a translation workflow, you can upload the translated file back to the integrated cloud storage platform without having to download the file first.
Setup for admins
As a DeepL admin, you need to activate the integration to Google Drive within your admin account. Once activated, all users within your organization can connect DeepL to their Google account.
- Log in to your DeepL account
- Under Integrations click on Google Drive
- Click Configure in the next window
- Enter "Google Drive" under Name
- Click Finish
A green check mark will appear in the Google Drive box indicating the successful activation.
You can deactivate the connection to an integration for your organization at any time within your account.
As a DeepL admin, you need to activate the integration to SharePoint within your admin account. Once activated, all users within your organization can connect DeepL to their Microsoft account.

- Under Integrations click on SharePoint

- Enter "SharePoint" under Name
- Click Finish

Login for admins
After you set up the cloud service integration for your team, follow these steps to connect a cloud service to your own DeepL account:
- Click the box of the cloud service integration, e.g., Google Drive
- Click the three dot
menu next to the Reconfigure button
- Select Create user configuration
- Click Connect
The authentication process for your cloud account will be started and your cloud service account will be linked to your DeepL account.
This connection only applies to your own DeepL account and does not affect other DeepL users in your team.
Setup and login for team members
To connect DeepL to your cloud service do the following:
- On the DeepL website log in with your DeepL account
- Go to the Apps tab
- Click Connect next to the service you want to connect
- Log in to your Google Drive, SharePoint or OneDrive account
The connection can be disabled at any time in your account under Apps.
To upload files from a cloud service with the file translation feature on the DeepL website, no further steps for the setup are needed.
Upload files from cloud services for file translation
To upload files directly from cloud service via DeepL's file translation feature, do the following:
- Go to deepl.com and navigate to File translation via the navigation bar
- Click Select from cloud
- In the new window, navigate to the cloud service you would like to connect
- Select one or multiple files for translation
- Click Add file(s)
The uploading option is supported for all file types available for your plan. Learn more about supported file formats in this article.
To upload the translated file back, you have the following options:
Upload them directly after the translation
Click Sync to cloud next to the file you would like to upload.
Upload them after a review
- Open the file in the saved translation section
- If you are the reviewer of the file, click Complete review
- Click Sync to Cloud
This option is only available, if the file has been uploaded from Google Drive for translation. It is not available if the file has been uploaded from another platform or from local storage.

- Click the three-dot menu next to the file you would like to upload
- Select Sync to cloud
