Translate WhatsApp Web messages with the WhatsApp Web integration in DeepL browser extensions for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.
This feature is not available in the WhatsApp mobile app.
To connect your WhatsApp account with the web version, go to WhatsApp Web and follow the instructions on the page.
Translate received messages
- Hover over the message you want to translate
- Click the DeepL icon
next to the message
- The translation will appear below the message
If you have not selected a target language yet, you will be asked to do so before the translation. You can change your target language in the browser extension settings .
For alternative translations for the selected text, click See alternatives at DeepL.com. You will be forwarded to the web translator.
Translate composed messages
- Compose a text in your chosen language
- Hover over the DeepL icon
- Click Select target language
and select a language
- The text will be replaced with the translated text
DeepL for WhatsApp Web translates text. It is not possible to translate other media e.g., emojis, GIF files, stickers, pictures, or videos.
