Change browser extension settings

If you've pinned the DeepL extension for Chrome, Edge, or Firefox to the toolbar of your browser, you can access the extension settings through the DeepL icon in your toolbar.

1. Click the DeepL icon in your browser toolbar
2. A sidebar will appear. Click the gear icon
3. A new page will open, where you can view the extension settings

If you haven't pinned the DeepL Translate extension to the toolbar, you can access the DeepL extension via the Extensions icon:

• Mozilla Firefox:

Click this icon to view a dropdown menu showing all the extensions that are installed and enabled. Select the DeepL extension and follow the instructions as described above.

In the extension settings, you can adjust your settings for Translate, Write, or Full-page translation. Click each tab individually to access the settings for that respective function.

You can also enable and select a glossary via the glossary settings on the left-hand side.

Manage DeepL floating icons

Enable or disable the DeepL floating icons (icon for Translator and Write functions) any time in your browser extension settings.

To disable the floating icons:

1. Hover over the DeepL icon and click on the Turn off button which appears
2. A window will open asking you whether you would like to deactivate the DeepL icon on your current site or on all sites
3. Select one of the options and confirm your choice by clicking OK

To (re)enable the floating icon:

1. Go to the browser extension’s settings
2. a) Click to enable the Show the DeepL floating icon in the Translator or Write tabs
   b) Click to enable Show full-page translation pop-up in the Full-page translation tab

If you have disabled the floating icons or full-page translation for specific websites:

1. Go to the browser extension’s settings
2. Delete the Never show… entries by clicking X next to the entry
