Upload your existing glossaries via CSV file in the glossary window on the web translator or desktop apps.
Formatting guidelines:
- Your file should be UTF-8 encoded (saved as CSV UTF-8 (comma delimited) (*.csv))
- The first row of the CSV file should start with the first entry
- Your file should not include any comments
- Your file should not exceed 10MB
- Your file should include only one entry per each source text (no duplicates are allowed)
An entry can contain multiple words or short phrases.
Upload a glossary with one language pair
If your file includes a glossary for one language pair (e.g., EN->DE)
- Go to our web translator
- Log in with your DeepL account
- Click Glossaries in the navigation bar on the left-hand side
- Click +New glossary
- Click Upload an existing glossary
- Enter a glossary name
- Select a CSV file with two columns (e.g., artist, Maler)
- A separator and the language pair should be detected automatically - edit manually if needed
- Click Upload glossary
Upload a glossary with multiple language pairs
If your file includes a glossary with several language pairs, you need to add the source language label and the target language label after the glossary entries in the following order:
- Source language term
- Target language term
- Source language label
- Target language label
E.g.,
translate,traducir,EN,ES
merci,grazie,FR,IT
- Select a CSV file with four columns
- Since you have specified the corresponding language pair for every glossary entry in your file, you should not select the language pair
- A separator should be detected automatically - edit manually if needed
- Click Upload glossary
