Translation flows help you to automate recurring file translation jobs and add them to your translation projects within DeepL.
Learn more about the availability and limits of translation flows in this article.
Create a new flow
You can find all translation flows you have access to under Flows on the DeepL website. To create a new flow, do the following:
- Go to Flows via the navigation bar
- Click + New flow
- Add a title and specify the source and target languages
- Optional: Add customization assets such as style profiles or glossaries
- Optional: Enable Translation quality evaluation
- Optional: Set review and quality based routing for the flow
- Click Save flow
The new flow will appear in your list of flows and can be used within a translation project.
You can edit the flow at any time by clicking on it.
Per default, only you have access to the translation flow. Share it with other members of your team to make it available for other translation projects within your organization. Find more information about sharing options in the section Share the flow within your organization.
Add customization assets to your flow
As an optional step, customizations can be added to your flow. They can help you to ensure consistent use of your organization's terminology and style guidelines for all translation jobs done via the translation flow.
The following customizations features are supported for translation flows:
You can add multiple customization assets to the same flow. They will be applied to all file translations of the supported language pairs.
Assign other team members for review
You can automatically assign other team members as reviewers for specific language pairs that are part of the translation flow.
Under Review and routing, do the following:
- For a language pair, click the selection under Review & quality threshold
- Select a review option: Always review, Smart routing or No review
- Optional: Tick the box at the bottom of the window to apply the setting to all language pairs
- Click Confirm
- Under Reviewers enter the mail address of a team member that should be assigned the review
If you have enabled translation quality evaluation as part of your flow, you can assign a human review based on a quality score. This option is available via Smart routing.
You can select a pre-defined threshold or define a custom one:
- Excellent (quality score of 95 or higher)
- Very good (quality score of 85 or higher)
- Good (quality score of 70 or higher)
- Custom (quality threshold between 50-100)
If the quality score is below the defined score, a human review will be triggered automatically after the translation is done.
Share the flow within your organization
You can share your translation flows with individual team members or with your whole organization. To share your flow, do the following:
- Open a flow and navigate to Sharing access
- To share it with individual members: Enter the mail address of a team member and click Add
or
To share it with your organization: Click the toggle switch Share with everyone
After sharing the flow, other team members can make changes to the flow and add it to their translation projects.
