I have been informed that my VAT ID is not valid. Why is this?
We are obligated to verify the validity of VAT IDs in order to check that customers are eligible to benefit from the Reverse Charge Mechanism. Should this verification come back negative, you will be notified via email. In that case, we cannot issue an invoice in accordance with the Reverse Charge Mechanism with that VAT ID.
If you have a new VAT ID from your local tax office, we would suggest that you update your VAT ID in the corresponding field in your DeepL account. To do so, click on Change under Billing information and select Purchasing for a company?
We suggest you update the VAT ID as soon as possible so that we can issue future invoices in accordance with the Reverse Charge Mechanism.
Please note that previous invoices will not be modified.
