The DeepL Voice Desktop App streams live translated audio during online meetings. A DeepL bot joins your call, captures the audio, translates it, and plays the translated speech through the app while muting the native meeting audio.
- Audio playback only: The app does not capture your microphone or speak into the meeting on your behalf.
- Individual language selection: Each participant runs their own instance of DeepL Voice and selects their preferred language.
- Centralized deployment: IT administrators can deploy the software across organizations.

Install the app
Download the installer from the DeepL Voice download page.
- macOS: Open the downloaded
.dmgfile and drag the DeepL Voice icon into your Applications folder. - Windows: Run the installer executable and choose your target installation folder.
First-launch setup
- Account authentication: Sign in with your DeepL account to activate your Voice subscription.
- Platform selection: Select Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Google Meet. You can use any of these platforms after setup.
Microsoft Teams integration: Signing into Teams inside the app enables automatic meeting detection and bypasses manual verification codes. Permissions (macOS only):
- Screen & system audio recording (Required): Allows the app to mute meeting audio while translation plays.
- Automation (Optional): Detects active meetings in browser tabs.
- Accessibility (Optional): Reads meeting invite links directly from Zoom.
- Full Disk Access (Optional): Accesses saved Teams credentials to bypass verification codes.
MacOS permissions may require restarting the app. Windows requires no extra system permissions.
