Translation Flow

Get started: Review a translation as an external reviewer

Content is translated from English using DeepL Pro.
Required: DeepL account

If your customer uses DeepL's translation flow for their translation projects, they can connect your account to their organization to assign you as an external reviewer.

Once you are invited, you can review the translated files you've been assigned directly within the DeepL user interface.

Learn all there is to know about reviewing file translations as an external reviewer in this article.

This feature is currently in beta and not available for all customers. If you are interested in testing this feature, reach out to your Account Executive or Customer Success Manager.

Accept or decline review invites

After you are invited by an admin of your customer's organization, do the following to accept the invitation:

  1. Log in to your DeepL account
  2. Open the tab Clients
  3. Under Clients requests click Accept invite

You can find the organization that sent you the invite in a list under Active clients now. Your account is now connected, and you can be assigned as an external reviewer.

To disconnect your account with the organization, click Leave in the organizations entry.

To decline an invitation from an organization, do the following:

  1. Log in to your DeepL account
  2. Open the tab Clients
  3. Under Clients requests, click Reject
Once your account is connected to the organization, you can access translated files that you are assigned to review. You can't access any other translations from the client or their customization assets, except for the ones shared with you.
You also won't have access to the organization's DeepL services.

Find a review request

Once a review has been assigned to you as an external reviewer, you will receive a notification via email and on the DeepL website via the bell icon.

Click on the link in the notification to access the translations.

You can also view all open and completed review requests on the Reviews page on the DeepL website. On this page, you can click on a file to open it directly within the Expert Editor.

Edit a translation for review

The review takes place on the DeepL website, via the Expert Editor. Here, you can view the texts of the translated file and the original split up in segments.

For the review, you have the following options:

  • Edit the translated text
  • Approve reviewed segments
  • View a preview of the translation and original
  • Leave comments
  • View information about applied customization assets (e.g., glossaries)
  • If activated, view results of a translation quality estimation

Find more detailed information about the editing options in this article.

If a translation memory is applied to the translation you are reviewing, then your edits will be captured in the translation memory.
