Grant access
In order to grant users access to your team, you need to configure them on your company's DeepL identity provider application. You cannot invite users to your team via email or invitation link if SSO is enabled for your team.
If no group membership for a user is pre-configured in the DeepL account, their first login will add them only to the default group. In that case, they are only assigned a license if a subscription is linked to the default group. For more information on how to pre-configure group membership, see this article.
If your team members log in to DeepL with SSO access without group sync, they will be added to a pre-configured group immediately. If your team members log in to DeepL with SSO and group sync is enabled, add users to the respective identity provider groups.
Remove access
- Remove the user from your DeepL identity provider application
- Delete the user in the Users tab in your DeepL account
Removed users aren't part of the team anymore and don't have DeepL access.
Manage unused licenses
You can check which users have logged in and used DeepL in the Users tab of your account. For more information, see this article.
You can free up licenses by removing product access from users. To do so, remove them from any groups that have subscriptions linked to them, and keep them only in groups that do not have any subscriptions linked to them. The user will lose their license and it can be assigned to others.
Change group membership
With JIT group sync enabled:
- Remove the user from their current group in your identity provider
- Add the user to the new group in your identity provider
- Ask the user to log out
- On login, the user will be removed and added to the new group on the DeepL side
With JIT group sync disabled:
- Remove the user from their current group in your DeepL account
- Add the user to the new group in your DeepL account
Add multiple users via CSV file
It is possible to add multiple users to your groups at once by uploading a CSV file if you have SSO without JIT group sync enabled. To do so, you must first create a CSV file that contains only the email addresses of the users you want to add to your groups. Then, follow these steps:
- Go to the tab Users in your account
- Click on Add users to groups
- Click on Upload a CSV file (minimum of 40 users)
- Select the CSV file from your computer
- Select the groups to which you want to add all users to from the drop-down menu
- Click on Add users
It may take a moment for the new users to show up in the list. You may have to refresh the page to see them. Admins will also receive a confirmation email when the upload is complete, telling them how many users could not be added from the CSV file.
