Connect DeepL to ChatGPT

Prerequisites

• DeepL AI connectors are enabled for your team. Contact to your team admin to enable DeepL usage in AI assistants or to add an app to ChatGPT. For more information, see this article. 

Connect DeepL to ChatGPT via the certified plugin

1. Open the DeepL plugin in ChatGPT
2. Click Install plugin, then select Sign in with DeepL
   The DeepL login page will open, allowing you to log in to DeepL. 
3. Open a new chat and prompt to translate or rewrite text and documents with DeepL

Connect DeepL to ChatGPT via a custom app

Depending on your ChatGPT plan, an admin or owner must first add an app in developer mode to your ChatGPT instance by following these instructions. Then, users can select the app to connect. If you cannot add a ChatGPT app yourself and don’t see a DeepL app in the list, contact your organization's ChatGPT admin or owner. 

To add an app in developer mode, do the following: 

1. Go to chatgpt.com or ChatGPT Desktop
2. Enable the developer mode. Depending on your ChatGPT plan, different steps are necessary. 
3. Create an app 

4. Enter a name for the app and select the OAuth authentication method. Then add the following URL: 

   https://mcp.deepl.com/v1/mcp

5. Confirm that you trust the application, then click Create
6. Test and publish the app for your users

To connect to DeepL via the app, follow these steps: 

1. Go to chatgpt.com or ChatGPT Desktop, then start a chat
2. Prompt the DeepL app to be used, then connect it.
   The DeepL login page will open, allowing you to authenticate.
