AI assistants, such as chat interfaces, agents, and coding assistants, can connect directly to your DeepL account, so that you can use DeepL without leaving the AI assistants interface. They can then use DeepL's capabilities via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) within your AI assistant session. The MCP is an open standard that allows AI assistants to connect to external tools and data sources in a standardized way.
Once connected, an AI assistant can use your DeepL account to do the following:
- Translate text in all languages supported by DeepL
- Translate documents while keeping the formatting
- Rephrase text in a selected tone and style or correct its punctuation and grammar
-
Apply customizations, like glossaries, style rules, and style profiles defined for your organization.
Currently, editing glossaries or style rules, checking usage or billing, translation memory, and voice features are not supported.
Use the DeepL AI connectors
Once connected, use one of the following prompts in your AI assistant to trigger a translation or rephrasing with DeepL.
- Translate: Translate this email into Japanese using our company glossary
- Rephrase: Rephrase this paragraph in a more formal tone
- Check: Check this text for spelling and grammar mistakes
- Translate document: Translate the attached PowerPoint into German
Connect your AI assistant to DeepL
We support connecting to the following AI assistants. Follow the instruction in the linked articles.
Depending on your subscription, two remote connection methods are available:
- Sign-in based connection: If you have a seat-based plan, sign in with your existing DeepL account.
- API key-based connection: If you have an active DeepL API subscription, provide an API key instead of signing in.
DeepL account login
Customers without an API subscription can connect to DeepL using their DeepL account login information. When you connect your AI assistant to DeepL, a separate login window opens to authorize the connection. The characters used for translating count toward the included usage limit.
