Translate your texts into multiple languages directly in Contentful with the DeepL browser extensions for Chrome, Edge or Firefox.
Setup for admins
As a DeepL admin, you need to activate DeepL for Contentful within your admin account. Once activated, all users within your organization can connect DeepL to their Contentful account.
- Log in to your DeepL account
- Under Integrations click on Contentful
- Click Configure in the next window
- Enter "Contentful" under Name
- Click Finish
A green check mark will appear in the Contentful box indicating the successful activation.
You can deactivate the integration to Contentful for your organization at any time within your account.
Setup and login for team members
To connect DeepL to your Contentful account do the following:
- On the DeepL website log in with your DeepL account
- Go to the Apps tab
- Click Connect next to Contentful
- Log in to your Contentful account
The connection can be disabled at any time in your account under Apps.
If you would like to use DeepL directly within Contentful, you need to install the DeepL browser extension and log in with your DeepL account.

To log in to the browser extension, do the following:
- In your browser's toolbar click the extensions icon
- Select DeepL
- Click Login
- In the new window, log in via your email address and password
or
Select Continue with SSO, if your company uses SSO
Translate texts within Contentful
- Open an entry (e.g., a log post or a landing page) within Contentful and go to the Editor tab
- Select the publication locales for your translations
- Open the DeepL browser extension
- Optional: Select a glossary at the bottom of the sidebar
- Click the option Translate [project name]
- Check the target languages
- Click Submit
The translated texts will be entered into the respective fields automatically once the translation is done.
During the translation process, you can track the translation status for each translated asset by language direction (e.g., English → Arabic).
Click on the language direction to view the translation status of all included assets.
