If you have purchased an add-on, you can cancel it separately from your base subscription. The cancellation will go into effect at the end of your current billing period. If you cancel your base subscription, the add-on will be cancelled along with it.
FAQ
I don't see an option to terminate my subscription
If you purchased through DeepL and you don't see the termination option in your DeepL account at the bottom of the Subscription page, please contact DeepL Support. If you purchased DeepL through a partner, you should contact them.
How do I know if my subscription has been terminated?
Once you have confirmed the termination, the status of your subscription, which is indicated in your account under Subscription, will change to Canceled. In addition, you'll see the termination date and the end date of your current billing period.
You will receive an email confirming the termination once your paid subscription has reached the termination date. If you don't receive an email, please check your spam folder.
When will the termination be effective?
Your subscription will remain active until the end of your current billing period, at which point it will be automatically deactivated and you won't incur any costs for a new billing period. This means the following:
- If you have a monthly subscription, your termination will be effective at the end of your current monthly billing period.
- If you have an annual subscription, your termination will be effective at the end of your current annual billing period.
No credit is offered for terminating a subscription prior to the end of your current billing period.
What if I cancel my subscription during a trial period?
If you terminate your subscription during the trial period, you will be able to use it until the end of the trial period, at which point your subscription will be automatically deactivated. You will not incur any costs.
What happens to my glossaries and saved translations once my subscription becomes inactive?
Once your subscription is deactivated, your glossaries, saved translations and style rules (custom content) will not be accessible anymore, and will be deleted after 90 days. If you want to save your custom content while the subscription is still active, read this article.
