After you translate a file with DeepL, you have the option to edit the translated file within DeepL, if the file has been stored. If a translation memory has been applied to the translated file before, edits made within the file will also be captured in the translation memory.
To update a translation memory from translated files, the following requirements must be met:
- A translation memory needs to be applied to a file translation
- The file needs to be stored after the translation
- The editor of the file needs to have editing access to the translation memory
Translation memories can only be updated by the owner or the reviewer of the translated file the translation memory has been applied to. Learn more about the review feature in this article.
To update a translation memory from a translated file, do the following:
- Open the translated file in the saved translation section in the navigation bar
- Select a stored file
- Review the file and update the text segment by segment
All edits to segments where a translation memory has been applied will automatically be captured within the translation memory.
