You can extract text from files for translation in the DeepL mobile apps. This feature is supported for the following UTI types:
- TXT (plaintext)
- HTML
To translate text from files, follow the steps below:

Open the mobile app and select the languages.

Tap the Document button
beneath the source text field.

Choose a file.

The text from your file will be inserted into the source text field and translated into the language of your choice.
Free users can translate up to 5,000 characters per translation via the iOS app.
The feature supports the following source languages: Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Ukrainian.
If a supported language for this feature is not available in your app, make sure that you have the latest app version installed. You can update your app via the App Store.
