Use the formality feature to change the tone of your text. Translation formality is set to automatic by default, but Pro users can also choose from the following options:

Automatic (default)
Detects the formality of your source text and applies this to the translated text -
Formal
Applies a formal tone to the translated text, regardless of the formality of your source text -
Informal
Applies an informal tone to the translated text, regardless of the formality of your source text

To change the formality on the web platform, do the following:
- Select a language pair
See supported languages for the formality feature - Click the formality menu
(by default, set to Automatic)
- Select a tone (Automatic | Formal | Informal )
- Your chosen tone will be applied to the translated text
