Style rules are part of the customization hub, which groups DeepL's customization features in one place. Other features you can find here are the following.
The style rules feature allows you to select a set of rules to apply when translating or improving text. These rules make changes to your text according to the selected formatting and spelling conventions.
Team admins and single-license holders can create lists of style rules, they selected or specified via free text prompts.

Available languages
Style rules are currently available for the following languages:
- Chinese
- English (UK & US)
- German
- French
- Italian
- Japanese
- Korean
- Spanish
Available platforms
Style rules can be used in DeepL Translator and Write on web. In the desktop apps, style rules are only supported for DeepL Write.
The option to create and edit style rules is available on the DeepL website via Style rules in the navigation bar.
Style rules are supported for both text translations and file translations.
DeepL API subscription
You can create style rules with your DeepL API Pro subscription. Read more about style rules in API requests in DeepL's API documentation.
You can access and manage your style rules via the DeepL REST API or via Style rules on the DeepL website. Read more about how to create style rules via the website in this article.
Sales-managed customers might have an account with both an API Pro as well as a Translator subscription. An admin who is assigned a Translator license can manage both API and Translator style rules on the website. To show either API or Translator style rules, select the toggle next to Show API rules:

A customization admin cannot manage API owned glossaries, style rules or translation memories. Only an admin can.
Limits
When creating a list of style rules, you can select an unlimited amount of pre-defined rules and 200 free text rules to be active per list at the same time. ToIf you are subscribed to one of our current plans, visit our Pricing page to learn more about how many lists of style rules can be created.
If you are subscribed to a DeepL Pro legacy plan (DeepL Pro Starter/Advanced/Ultimate), you can create one style rule list including an unlimited amount of pre-defined rules and 200 free text rules to be active.
