The character limits for DeepL Write might vary according to your plan. You can learn more about the limits in the following sections.
For users without a paid account
Users without an account can work with texts of up to 1,500 characters at a time.
For users with a DeepL Pro Starter/Advanced/Ultimate plan
If you signed up for a DeepL Pro Starter/Advanced/Ultimate plan for DeepL Translator, you can work with texts of up to 2,000 characters at a time.
To access the paid version of DeepL Write, you can subscribe to a bundle, which combines the benefits of both DeepL Pro Starter/Advanced/Ultimate and DeepL Write Pro. More information about our bundles can be found here.
For DeepL Write Pro users
DeepL Write Pro users can improve texts with an unlimited amount of characters while benefiting from maximum data security. This means that your texts won't be stored so long as you are logged into your account.

For DeepL API (Free and Pro) users
It is possible to access the DeepL API for Write with a DeepL API Pro subscription. You can find more information in our API documentation.It's not possible to use DeepL Write with your DeepL API Free plan.
If you have an API subscription and are logged into your account, you can access the free version of DeepL Write (see For users with a DeepL Pro Starter/Advanced/Ultimate plan) on the DeepL website.
Our API plans enable access to DeepL's API, but don't provide DeepL Pro benefits, such as increased data security when using the web translator.
