Can I translate text from documents via the mobile app?
Yes, you can import text from files for translation with the DeepL for iOS app. Currently, this feature is only supported for the following UTI types: PDF, plaintext, image, html.
To translate text from files, please follow the steps below:
Open the mobile app and select the languages.
Tap the Document button beneath the source text field.
Choose a file.
The text from your file will be inserted into the source text field and translated to the language of your choice.
Please note that it is possible to translate up to 5,000 characters per translation via the iOS app.
The feature currently only supports the following source languages: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Chinese.
Please note that translations of small, badly lit, handwritten, or stylized text may not be accurate.
The feature is currently not available in the DeepL for Android app.
