Where can I use DeepL while browsing?
With the DeepL browser extensions for Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox, you can translate text while you read and write directly in your browser. You also have the option to improve your written texts with just a few clicks.
Currently, we don’t offer extensions for other browsers.
For Chrome
The DeepL Chrome extension is available in the Chrome Web Store, and it is free of charge.
To install the extension, please follow these steps:
- Open the Chrome Web Store
- Click Add to Chrome
- Click Add extension
Once the extension is added, a pop-up message will appear in the top-right corner.
To easily manage your DeepL extension, pin it to the Chrome toolbar via the Extensions icon: .
If you click on this icon, a drop-down will show all installed and enabled extensions. You can pin or unpin the DeepL extension to show or hide it in the toolbar at any time.
For Edge
The DeepL Edge extension is available via the Microsoft Edge Add-ons page and is also free of charge.
To install the extension, please follow these steps:
- Open the Microsoft Edge Add-ons page
- Click Get
- Click Add extension
Once the extension is added, a pop-up message will appear in the top-right corner.
To easily manage your DeepL extension, pin it to the toolbar via the Extensions icon: .

For Firefox
The DeepL Firefox extension is available via the Firefox Browser Add-ons page and is also free of charge.
To install the extension, please follow these steps:
- Open the Firefox Browser Add-ons page
- Click Add to Firefox
- A pop-up will appear listing the required permissions for the Firefox extension. Accept the Add-on permissions by clicking on Add.
Once the extension is added, a pop-up message will appear in the top-right corner asking you to confirm the add-on permissions.
To easily manage your DeepL extension, pin it to the toolbar via the Extensions icon: .
If you click on this icon, a drop-down will show all installed and enabled extensions. You can pin the DeepL extension to show it in the toolbar at any time by clicking on the gear icon .
You can unpin the extension again by right-clicking on the DeepL icon in your toolbar and deselect the option "Pin to toolbar".
