Welcome to DeepL Voice for Meetings! With our Microsoft Teams integration, you can host truly multilingual meetings where everyone can speak, and read live captions, in their preferred language. This guide explains the different roles involved and how to get started.
Microsoft admin
First, your organization’s Microsoft admin will need to complete some installation and set up steps:
- Install the DeepL Voice app from the Microsoft store
- Review and accept required permissions
- Ensure the DeepL Voice app is available to relevant teams and users

Next, your DeepL team admin will need to assign licenses to give users the ability to start, and manage, meeting translation in Microsoft Teams. DeepL team admins will do the following:
- Manage the DeepL admin account (create teams, assign licenses, etc.)
- Oversee organizational setup and subscription details
- Coordinate with the Microsoft admin if additional permissions or settings are required

DeepL team admins can invite other users via email to create an account and join the team. Team members of a DeepL Voice for Meetings subscription each get a DeepL Voice license, and can do the following:
- Invite the DeepL bot during meetings to enable multilingual meeting translation for all participants, whether license holders themselves or not
- Manage translation controls and provide translation access to participants without a Voice license

Meeting participants without a license
Once a team member with a Voice license has enabled DeepL Voice in the meeting, all participants (regardless of whether they hold a Voice license or not) can do the following:
- Select their spoken language
- View live captions in their spoken language
- Configure individual translation and caption settings
