Overview
You can translate single comments or your whole webpage on YouTube with the DeepL browser extensions for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.
To access this feature, you need to add the DeepL browser extension for Chrome, Edge, or Firefox to your browser. For more information on how to add the extension to your browser, click here.
This feature is available for free users and DeepL Pro subscribers.
Translate single comments
A Translate with DeepL button will be displayed below comments that don't match your browser's language. If the comment's language matches your browser's, no option to translate will appear.
- Select a target language in your browser extension settings
- Open a Youtube video
- Click Translate with DeepL under a comment
- The translation will appear in a green box under the comment
- (Optional) Click Open in DeepL.com for more translation options
Translate the whole page
This feature is only available for users with an active DeepL Pro Starter/Advanced/Ultimate subscription. To learn more about the Full page translation feature, click here.
- Navigate to youtube.com and select a video
- Click the DeepL icon in your toolbar
- Select a target language under Translate page from and into
- Click Translate page
- The text will automatically be translated into your target language as you scroll down
Limitations
- Not available for:
- Short comments
- Community comments
- Character limits apply according to your plan (more information can be found here)
