What is an authentication key and how can I use it?
An authentication key is a code that enables you to use DeepL directly in your CAT tool. When integrating DeepL in their CAT tool professional translators can use a pre-generated machine translation (aka. pre-translation) to make their translation processes more efficient.
The authentication key looks similar to: df4385c2-33de-e423-4134-ca1f7b3ea8b7.
You can find your authentication key in your DeepL account in the Account tab, at the bottom of the page, under Authentication Key. To get access to a key and to be able to use DeepL in a CAT tool, you'll need a DeepL Pro Advanced or Ultimate subscription.
More information on how to use DeepL Pro with your CAT tool can be found here.
The authentication key can be used in DeepL plugins offered by CAT tool providers to directly integrate DeepL Translator in your CAT tool.
Please note that these plugins are developed and maintained by the respective CAT tool provider. Should you encounter difficulties when using DeepL Pro with your CAT tool, please make sure that your plug-in is up to date.
