Is it possible to install the DeepL app for Windows machine-wide/system-wide?
Yes, you can perform a machine-wide/system-wide installation of the DeepL app for Windows.
To do so:
- Download the regular DeepLSetup.exe installer
- Run it with the
--machine
command-line argument to perform a machine-wide installation
You can also add the argument --silent
to perform an unattended installation. When installing the DeepL app machine-wide the following additional components are installed:
- Two scheduled Windows tasks in the sub-folder "Zero Install". They check for updates and download them.
- A Windows service named "Zero Install Store Service". This service verifies and installs updates.
If you use SCCM/InTune to automatically distribute the app, you can use the presence of the following registry key as the "Detection Method":
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\https%3a##appdownload.deepl.com#windows#0install#deepl.xml
